01 / A familiar bird. A bold beer.

A familiar raven.
A bold Doppelbock.

Look up along Jefferson and you’ll find a piece of Oak Cliff that generations of neighbors have known: the raven signs of Raven’s Pharmacy. Ravenator carries that neighborhood memory into a German-style Doppelbock, with a black bird stretched across its red-orange label.

Doppelbock means “double bock”: a strong, malt-forward lager with richness at its heart. Ravenator leans all the way in. At 8% ABV, deep amber malt, dried-fruit notes, coffee, and chocolate make it a fireside sipper, while extended lagering keeps the finish crisp. Pull up a chair. Stay a while.

02 / Raven’s Pharmacy · Oak Cliff

Behind the bird.

Before the beer, there was a neighborhood pharmacy—and a sign worth looking up for.

A name on the boulevard.

George A. Raven founded the pharmacy business. Neighborhood records place a Raven Pharmacy on West Jefferson in 1946; by 1972, four Raven Pharmacies served Oak Cliff.

The signs became landmarks in their own right. In 2015, when the Jefferson property was offered for lease, its owners told the Oak Cliff Advocate that the iconic raven sign would stay. A business could change. The bird belonged to the boulevard.

From the neighborhood record

Four corners of Oak Cliff.

The 1972 advertisement lists locations on Colorado, Jefferson, Centre, and Kiest. An everyday business left its mark across the neighborhood—and a bird became part of the local vocabulary.

A darker depth

Dried fruit, roasted coffee, and chocolate notes make this a beer to linger over.

03

Extended lagering
